Just Do It!

"Help, someone call 911! There's a lady having a heart attack," were the frantic words I heard yelled while I was working the drive through at the credit union this afternoon. I work in a beautiful large building that not only houses the credit union but also a few other small businesses and a conference room that people can rent out for receptions, etc. It so happened that the red hat ladies had the room rented today and were in the middle of an exciting game of bunco when one of them fell to the ground and went unconscious.
As one of the tellers called the ambulance, I went into the room full of anxious ladies to see if I could help. I was able to get a pulse and could see she was breathing, and even with my basic training, it was clear to me that she was not having a heart attack, but a stroke.
Im happy to say that I didn't have to do any lifesaving techniques today, as the ambulance arrived very quickly, but I have to tell you that it felt so comforting to know that I do have that training in case something horrible were ever to happen.
If you didnt put it on your list of resolutions, I suggest that you make it a top priority. Even before losing that 20 pounds or learning a second language or to ballroom dance. Give yourself that piece of mind that this simple procedure can do . . . save someones life.

I love this idea! I was planning on hosting a CPR training course this summer at my house because one of Wes' coworkers is certified to train people through the fire dept. He came and taught the YW in our ward a few things for their camp certifications and it was very cool! You always have great stories and this one will be in my top 3! You are one amazing woman!
