Success!!

We had our "Pulvers Amazing Race" again this weekend and it was a big success.
Team s"traveled" to 4 different countries: Egypt, Ethiopia, Iceland and Transylvania.  There was also a "Roadblock and a Detour.
The pink team in "Egypt".  They had to make a 6 person human pyramid. There were only four to a team so luckily there were other people at the park they could grab.

In Ethiopia, team members had to bring water from the river in a cup on their heads and fill up their buckets.  My husband is a big cheater and threw one of the other teammates in the water.  Hard to believe, isnt it.
Heres the whole gang.  In Transylvania, they had to find some info from a headstone and in Iceland, they had to get jewels from a cooler full of ice with their toes.  The detour was X marks the spot.  There is a huge outdoor events complex with tons of picnic tables.  They had to find 4 Xs of their teams colors.  In the Roadblock, they chose to either find 3 rocks in our swimming pool or make 3 baskets at our basketball court. . . blindfolded.
We had a potluck after and ate yummy food.  The weather was perfect.  No wind.  Im glad it was a huge success.  I put A LOT of work into it.
Watch this time next year for the same post!!

It Happened

Well, the inevitable happened; I turned the dreaded 40. People keep telling me, its just a number, and Im trying to take it in stride but am having quite a difficult time. This picture helped me get through the day.
Its been a fun ride so far.  I hope the next 40 dont slow down at all and I am around to post the same thing when I turn 80.
I love this Ode by Andy Rooney.

As I grow in age, I value women over 40 most of all. Here are just a few reasons why:

A woman over 40 will never wake you in the middle of the night and ask, 'What are you thinking?' She doesn't care what you think. If a woman over 40 doesn't want to watch the game, she doesn't sit around whining about it. She does something she wants to do, and it's usually more interesting. Women over 40 are dignified. They seldom have a screaming match with you at the opera or in the middle of an expensive restaurant. Of course, if you deserve it, they won't hesitate to shoot you if they think they can get away with it. Older women are generous with praise, often undeserved. They know what it's like to be unappreciated. Women get psychic as they age. You never have to confess your sins to a woman over 40. Once you get past a wrinkle or two, a woman over 40 is far sexier than her younger counterpart. Older women are forthright and honest. They'll tell you right off you are a jerk if you are acting like one. You don't ever have to wonder where you stand with her.. Yes, we praise women over 40 for a multitude of reasons. Unfortunately, it's not reciprocal. For every stunning, smart, well-coiffed, hot woman over 40, there is a bald, paunchy relic in yellow pants making a fool of himself with some 22-year old waitress. Ladies, I apologize.

Something to be Proud of

Jazz had her last Border League Basketball game today.  Their little team of 6 took 2nd.  I am so proud of them.  Its been a long season and I have so enjoyed watching these girlies and getting to know each of them.  They each brought something extra to the team.  I have a mothers love for all 6 of them.  I am excited for high school.  I think they will dominate.

Jasmines coach was amazing.  He was always, always positive with the girls and it brought out the best in them.  They wanted to win, not only for themselves, but for the coach, too.  Jasmines self confidence has shot through the roof.  Thanks for a great season, Coach Mike.
And I just had to throw this in.  When Bentley eats, this is his mmmm face. It means "This is some great grub!"
