Weekend with the Grandkids

We had a great weekend with the grandkids.
We went for a ride in the stroller. . . .
And to the park. . . .
We went to a luau for Trevors Birthday.  Where Bentley loved loved loved the tramp.  He jumped while everyone else was limboing and hula hooping and eating.
Is this not the sweetest picture ever?  Look at her gaze up at yampa.
And here is Jazz holding Bentley while he is looking longingly at the tramp.
Also, this weekend, Bobby went snowboarding.  Poor thing.  They think he got elevation sickness.  He was able to spend only two hours snowboarding and then he spent the rest of the day sitting in the van, calling me every hour.  Look at those chapped lips.  Haha!  Not such a great weekend for Bud.

Bobbys 12th

We had an Amazing Race for Bobbys birthday.  His whole basketball team came and I had a blast "torturing" them.  Each clue had something to do with my baby boy.
1st Task: Eat a jar of mixed vegetable baby food.  (Only 2 teams finished that)
Second: Find a stranger, have him put on the Princess party hat and sing Happy Birthday.
Third:  Throw your best gang sign by the Trailside sign, where Bobby lives.
Fourth: One of Bobbys favorite sports is basketball. Each team member must make a backward free throw.
They also had to find a license plate with a 2 and a 3 for Bobbys birthday: Feb 3.
I cant believe he is 12.  He has been impatiently waiting for this birthday.  He is such a wonderful person.  He has the biggest heart, he gives the best hugs, he has a great sense of humor.  He is intelligent and handsome and he loves to help me cook.
Happy Birthday Bud!!!

Grandma Johnson

The heavens cheered this morning, as it welcomed back a very valiant and stall ward lady.
My grandma's frail body finally let go of her strong spirit this morning and although we are selfishly sad not to have her in our daily lives, we are so thankful that she is no longer feeling any pain and that she is celebrating being with her sweetheart and all of her family that has so patiently awaited her return.
Some of the things that I loved about my grandma was how dedicated she was to the church.  She was an excellent example to us. I believe she went on 3 different missions.
Another thing that I admired about her was that she was very outspoken.  She always told it how it was, whether you wanted to hear it or not.  I love that in a person. You always knew where you stood with her.
I have fond memories of summers when her and Dola would have a HUGE garden and we would get together as a family and pick vegetables and then spend all weekend canning.  It was so hot and I complained, but looking back, I loved the time spent with those ladies.
She was strong.  Not only spiritually, but physically also.  She took great care of her body and it was strong up to the point of being a hindrance during those last looong excruciating weeks.
She was able to have 3 of the most wonderful, caring, selfless people taking care of her in the end.  My mom and dad and my uncle Dennis. Im glad that she was able to be in the comfort of a loving home instead of at the hospital during these last months. Im sure she is so thankful for them and the tender care that they have given her.
I have a testimony of the Plan of Salvation and I know without a shadow of a doubt that we will be able to see her again. I am so thankful for the opportunity to have had her in my life.  She will truly be missed.  I love you Grandma.
